Who is Samhitha Raj?
I’m a Scientific Product Manager based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I earned my PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan and I love translating complex biology into clear, useful experiences for people.
Blended Experience
My career has blended science, teaching, and product building. After my PhD, I served as a Founding Faculty member at Fulbright University Vietnam, where I helped build programs and curriculum from the ground up and taught courses across molecular biology and scientific inquiry. That experience shaped how I work today: I care deeply about inclusion, clarity, and creating environments where people feel empowered to learn and solve problems.
Current Role
Mentoring & Community
At VectorBuilder, I lead the lifecycle for genomics product lines and help launch and improve customer-facing digital tools and scientific content. I partner closely with R&D, design, sales, and marketing to turn customer needs and scientific literature into tools, workflows, and messaging that are accurate, approachable, and measurable. I’m happiest working in ambiguous spaces, asking good questions, listening to users, and iterating quickly to make the science easier and the user experience better.
Outside of day-to-day product work, I also enjoy mentorship and community building. I have mentored student teams across several institutions and countries and I care about long-term mentorship that supports growth beyond a single project.
